So what is ?

Goji has been defined on many goji websites, some definations intentionally distort what goji actually is. Goji's common English name is Chinese Wolfberry (scientific name: Lycium barbarum). Its Chinese name is go-chi (枸杞), or go-chi-zi (枸杞子). At my hometown of Zhongning, local farmes also call it guo-zi (果子), meaning 'berry' or 'fruit' - it is self-evident that the 'berry' or 'fruit' is goji in the place well known for producing goji.

I initially attempted to write full-fledged report on goji, but I gave up this idea, because I found out with joy that the online free encyclopedia Wikipedia has already given detailed accounts. For visitors to my website who wants to have a objective view of goji, I recommend you visit following wikipedia link:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfberry

Goji seems a mysterious berry to westerners partly because the information regarding its origin, geographic distribution and varieties are very confusing. Without in-depth investigation, you may end up with wrong ideas if you just browse internet web pages. As a native of 'goji hometown', I feel obligated to present people with goji truth to the best of my knowledge. This thinking motiviated me to develop this 'goji knowledge base'. As I am doing this using my after-work and after-family time, please parden me for the slow progress. I wish you will find something new everytime you come back to revisit.
